HOTSPOT COMMEMORATES INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY 2022

Hotspot staff were joined by two of their most recent additions to the governing structure of the company in the celebration of this year’s International Women’s Day with the theme “Break the Bias”.

Mrs. Zainab Mustapha Jaji and Ms. Chinenye Uwanaka were the two new Non-Executive Directors that graced the occasion with their presence. The Directors were welcomed by the Human Resource Manager, Mr. Dominic Ogu and conducted round the office while introducing them to all staff. Thereafter, there was a debate between male staff and their female colleagues on the bias against women, “Women face bias from their male counterparts in the corporate world Vs Women do not face any bias in the corporate world”. At the end of the debate, the Directors as Panelists, discussed the various areas of identified bias and possible remedial alternatives. They encouraged the female gender to live above expectation while paying attention to some of the key societal or religious factors.

The Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Morenikeji Aniye while thanking the Non-Executive Directors for taking initiative steps for the event and honoring the invitation, stated that Hotspot has began implementation of its gender policy specifying necessary steps to encourage greater female inclusiveness in all areas of its operation. The Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Adesola Soetan, in his closing remarks said the implementation of the gender policy will be a daily and continuous one as it will help in creating the necessary awareness and instigate better recognition for the female gender in the work place. He advised the female staff to see this as an opportunity to prove their value instead of capitalizing on it for a soft-landing.
