Morenikeji is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Hotspot Network Limited. He is highly experienced in Radio Network Planning and Optimization – and in areas of strategy formulation and cost effective solutions. He started his career at Basscom Nigeria Ltd as a Project Engineer and has over a decade of experience in telecommunications.
Morenikeji joined MTN as one of the premier Radio Frequency (RF) Engineers of Mobile Telephone Network (MTN) in October 2001. He was involved in numerous projects including the earliest Radio Network Planning deployment in the upper Niger GSM network, Radio Network Propagation Tuning for
Nigeria network, Radio Network Planning and Optimization.
He successfully led the project team that swapped out Ericsson nodes from the Northern part of the country to Huawei on MTN network – the first in MTN Nigeria. He soon became RF Planning and Optimization Regional Manager for the Northern region. In 2004, he was seconded to MTN International (MTN SA), where he worked as RF Engineer at MTN SA office in Johannesburg. While in South Africa, Morenikeji was in charge of Radio Network Planning and Optimization for Pretoria City. He assisted on Radio Network Parameter Tuning and integration of Dual Band Network in South Africa.
Morenikeji moved to Celtel, which was later acquired by Zain. At Zain (now Airtel), he was the Radio Planning and Transmission Manager for 3 regions; North Central, North West and North East. He led the decommissioning and cutover of BTS Infrastructure from Motorola to Ericsson in the capital city of Abuja.
He left Zain in 2008 to set up Verreaux Technologies Ltd as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer; Verreaux Technologies Ltd was engaged in Telecoms projects. Prior to setting up the firm, he was at one time the MD/CEO of Abuja Connect. In 2012, Verreaux Technologies Limited transited to
Hotspot Network Limited.
He has a first degree in Electrical Electronics Engineering from the University of Ilorin and attended trainings, conferences, workshops and seminars globally. Morenikeji is well trained in business management, corporate strategy, project management, engineering and telecommunications and he is a member of COREN, Fellow of Nigerian Society of Engineers, Project Management Institute, and Associate Member of Nigerian institute of Management.
Morenikeji has attended many capacity building and development programs in Asia, Africa, Europe and America. He has acquired numerable skills ranging from Management, Technical and Leadership skills while at MTN.
